Description
Again, this patcher is similar to the previous
patcher (07b_Send_and_Receive). But here we generate
random durations instead of random pitches. Keeping
the pitch at a constant C4, we choose from four
durations: 1000, 500, 500, and 250 ms. The duration
500 has been "weighted" so that it occurs on average
twice as often as the other two durations. At the top
of the patcher, notice that the current duration is
sent into the right inlet of metro to make the
pulse rate match the current duration. This is a
simple way algorithmically generate a simple rhythm.
